2020-11-22drm/via: Fix fall-through warnings for ClangGustavo A. R. Silva
In preparation to enable -Wimplicit-fallthrough for Clang, fix a warning by explicitly adding a break statement instead of letting the code fall through to the next case. 2019-07-25drm/via: drop use of drmP.hSam Ravnborg
Drop use of the deprecated drmP.h header. While touching the files divide include files in blocks and sort the files alphabetically. v2: - Replace all uses of DRM_WAIT_ON() with VIA_WAIT_ON() and thus avoiding to pull in drm_os_linux.h v3: - DRM_WAIT_ON replacement moved to earlier patch (Emil) Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Reviewed-by: Emil Velikov <emil.velikov@collabora.com> Cc: Kevin Brace <kevinbrace@gmx.com> Cc: Thomas Hellstrom <thellstrom@vmware.com> Cc: "Gustavo A. 2019-07-25drm/via: copy DRM_WAIT_ON as VIA_WAIT_ON and use itSam Ravnborg
VIA_WAIT_ON() is a direct copy of DRM_WAIT_ON() from drm_os_linux.h. The copy is made so we can avoid the dependency on the legacy header. A more involved approach had been to introduce wait_event_* but for this legacy driver the simpler and more safe approach with a copy of the macro was selected. Added the relevant header files for the functions used in VIA_WAIT_ON. v3: - Updated users of DRM_WAIT_ON => VIA_WAIT_ON (Emil) - Updated $subject (Emil) Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Reviewed-by: Emil Velikov <emil.velikov@collabora.com> Cc: Kevin Brace <kevinbrace@gmx.com> Cc: Thomas Hellstrom <thellstrom@vmware.com> Cc: "Gustavo A. 2019-07-25drm/via: drop use of DRM(READ|WRITE) macrosSam Ravnborg
The DRM_READ, DRM_WRITE macros comes from the deprecated drm_os_linux.h header file. Remove their use to remove this dependency. Replace the use of the macros with static inline variants. v4: - Use a more standard via_write8_mask() function (Emil) v3: - Use static inline functions, rather than macros (Emil) - Use dedicated mask variants for byte access (Emil) Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Reviewed-by: Emil Velikov <emil.velikov@collabora.com> Cc: Kevin Brace <kevinbrace@gmx.com> Cc: Thomas Hellstrom <thellstrom@vmware.com> Cc: "Gustavo A. 2017-11-27drm/via: use monotonic time for VIA_WAIT_IRQArnd Bergmann
The normal DRM vblank interrupt events started using monotonic times in commit c61eef726a78 ("drm: add support for monotonic vblank timestamps"), which is useful for a number of reasons, including the possible y2038 overflow. The VIA_WAIT_IRQ ioctl uses the same drm_wait_vblank_reply as DRM_IOCTL_WAIT_VBLANK, but still uses wall-clock time. This converts it to using monotonic time as well, which is more consistent, and avoids problems with the y2038 overflow as well as synchronization issues when the real time skips. I could not find the matching user space that calls the VIA_WAIT_IRQ ioctl to verify that this is safe, but it very likely is. Please either test or review the user space side before applying this. 2017-11-06drm: via: use ktime_get() instead of do_gettimeofdayArnd Bergmann
We want to remove uses of do_gettimeofday() from the kernel since the resulting timeval structure overflows in 2038. This is not a problem for this particular use, but do_gettimeofday() is also not an appropriate method for measuring time intervals, since it requires a conversion into microseconds and is complicated to work with. ktime_get() is a better replacement, as it works with the monontonic kernel timebase and requires a minimum of computation. I'm slightly changing the output from microseconds to nanoseconds here, to avoid introducing a new division operation. This should be fine since the value is only used for debugging. 2015-10-06drm/irq: Use unsigned int pipe in public APIThierry Reding
This continues the pattern started in commit cc1ef118fc09 ("drm/irq: Make pipe unsigned and name consistent"). This is applied to the public APIs and driver callbacks, so pretty much all drivers need to be updated to match the new prototypes. 2012-10-02UAPI: (Scripted) Remove redundant DRM UAPI header #inclusions from drivers/gpu/.David Howells
Remove redundant DRM UAPI header #inclusions from drivers/gpu/. Remove redundant #inclusions of core DRM UAPI headers (drm.h, drm_mode.h and drm_sarea.h). They are now #included via drmP.h and drm_crtc.h via a preceding patch. Without this patch and the patch to make include the UAPI headers from the core headers, after the UAPI split, the DRM C sources cannot find these UAPI headers because the DRM code relies on specific -I flags to make #include "..." work on headers in include/drm/ - but that does not work after the UAPI split without adding more -I flags. 2009-07-15drm/via: Fix vblank IRQ on VIA hardware.Simon Farnsworth

2008-11-25drm: move drm vblank initialization/cleanup to driver load/unloadKeith Packard

2008-10-18drm: Rework vblank-wait handling to allow interrupt reduction.Jesse Barnes
Previously, drivers supporting vblank interrupt waits would run the interrupt all the time, or all the time that any 3d client was running, preventing the CPU from sleeping for long when the system was otherwise idle. Now, interrupts are disabled any time that no client is waiting on a vblank event. The new method uses vblank counters on the chipsets when the interrupts are turned off, rather than counting interrupts, so that we can continue to present accurate vblank numbers. 2008-07-14drm: reorganise drm tree to be more future proof.Dave Airlie
With the coming of kernel based modesetting and the memory manager stuff, the everything in one directory approach was getting very ugly and starting to be unmanageable. This restructures the drm along the lines of other kernel components. It creates a drivers/gpu/drm directory and moves the hw drivers into subdirectores. It moves the includes into an include/drm, and sets up the unifdef for the userspace headers we should be exporting. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
