2020-10-07powerpc/hv-gpci: Add sysfs files inside hv-gpci device to show cpumaskKajol Jain
Patch here adds a cpumask attr to hv_gpci pmu along with ABI documentation. Primary use to expose the cpumask is for the perf tool which has the capability to parse the driver sysfs folder and understand the cpumask file. Having cpumask file will reduce the number of perf command line parameters (will avoid "-C" option in the perf tool command line). 2020-10-07powerpc/perf/hv-gpci: Add cpu hotplug supportKajol Jain
Patch here adds cpu hotplug functions to hv_gpci pmu. A new cpuhp_state "CPUHP_AP_PERF_POWERPC_HV_GPCI_ONLINE" enum is added. The online callback function updates the cpumask only if its empty. As the primary intention of adding hotplug support is to designate a CPU to make HCALL to collect the counter data. The offline function test and clear corresponding cpu in a cpumask and update cpumask to any other active cpu. 2020-09-02powerpc/perf: consolidate GPCI hcall structs into asm/hvcall.hScott Cheloha
The H_GetPerformanceCounterInfo (GPCI) hypercall input/output structs are useful to modules outside of perf/, so move them into asm/hvcall.h to live alongside the other powerpc hypercall structs. Leave the perf-specific GPCI stuff in perf/hv-gpci.h. PMUs For PowerPC PMUs that do not support context exclusion let's advertise the PERF_PMU_CAP_NO_EXCLUDE capability. This ensures that perf will prevent us from handling events where any exclusion flags are set. Let's also remove the now unnecessary check for exclusion flags. 2016-02-10powerpc/perf/hv-gpci: Increase request buffer sizeSukadev Bhattiprolu
The GPCI hcall allows for a 4K buffer but we limit the buffer to 1K. The problem with a 1K buffer is if a request results in returning more values than can be accomodated in the 1K buffer the request will fail. The buffer we are using is currently allocated on the stack and hence limited in size. Instead use a per-CPU 4K buffer like we do with 24x7 counters (hv-24x7.c). While here, rename the macro GPCI_MAX_DATA_BYTES to HGPCI_MAX_DATA_BYTES for consistency with 24x7 counters. 2015-02-02powerpc/perf/{hv-gpci, hv-common}: generate requests with counters annotatedCody P Schafer
This adds (in req-gen/) a framework for defining gpci counter requests. It uses macro magic similar to ftrace. Also convert the existing hv-gpci request structures and enum values to use the new framework (and adjust old users of the structs and enum values to cope with changes in naming). In exchange for this macro disaster, we get autogenerated event listing for GPCI in sysfs, build time field offset checking, and zero duplication of information about GPCI requests.
