2021-01-19Deprecate OCSP_xxx API for OSSL_HTTP_xxxRich Salz
Deprecations made: OCSP_REQ_CTX typedef->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX OCSP_REQ_CTX_new->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_new OCSP_REQ_CTX_free->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_free OCSP_REQ_CTX_http-> OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_header OCSP_REQ_CTX_add1_header->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_add1_header OCSP_REQ_CTX_i2d->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_i2d OCSP_REQ_CTX_get0_mem_bio->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_get0_mem_bio OCSP_set_max_response_length->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_set_max_response_length OCSP_REQ_CTX_nbio_d2i->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_sendreq_d2i OCSP_REQ_CTX_nbio->OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX_nbio Made some editorial changes to man3/OCSP_sendreq.pod; move the NOTES text inline. Some of the original functions had no documentation: OCSP_REQ_CTX_new, OCSP_REQ_CTX_http, OCSP_REQ_CTX_get0_mem_bio, OCSP_REQ_CTX_nbio_d2i, and OCSP_REQ_CTX_nbio. Their new counterparts are now documented in doc/man3/OSSL_HTTP_REQ_CTX.pod Fixes #12234 Co-authored-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org> Reviewed-by: David von Oheimb <david.von.oheimb@siemens.com> Reviewed-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org> (Merged from https://github.com/openssl/openssl/pull/13742)
2020-02-10Memory allocator code cleanupDavide Galassi
Typedefs of CRYPTO malloc, realloc and free. MEM_CHECK "modes" are used only as a CRYPTO_mem_ctrl() parameter The CRYPTO_mem_ctrl is defined only if OPENSSL_NO_CRYPTO_MDEBUG is defined, thus define the MEM_CHECK modes under the same condition. Maybe the macros can be removed at all since: 1. CRYPTO_mem_ctrl() just returns -1 and ignores the parameter 2. CRYPTO_mem_ctr() is declared as DEPRECATED by 3.0 Reviewed-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org> Reviewed-by: Paul Dale <paul.dale@oracle.com> (Merged from https://github.com/openssl/openssl/pull/11042)

They were only used for recursive ASN1 parsing. Even if the internal memory-debugging facility remains, this simplification seems worthwhile. Trim trailing whitespace. It doesn't match OpenSSL coding standards, AFAICT, and it can cause problems with git tooling. Trailing whitespace remains in test data and external source. 2015-04-28ERR_ cleanupRich Salz
Remove ERR_[gs]et_implementation as they were not undocumented and useless (the data structure was opaque). Halve the number of lock/unlock calls in almost all ERR_ functions by letting the caller of get_hash or int_thread_set able to lock. Very useful when looping, such as adding errors, or when getting the hash and immediately doing a lookup on it. Reviewed-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org>
2015-04-24Big apps cleanup (option-parsing, etc)Rich Salz
This is merges the old "rsalz-monolith" branch over to master. The biggest change is that option parsing switch from cascasding 'else if strcmp("-foo")' to a utility routine and somethin akin to getopt. Also, an error in the command line no longer prints the full summary; use -help (or --help :) for that. There have been many other changes and code-cleanup, see bullet list below.
