2018-10-23RSA security bits calculationPauli
NIST has updated their guidelines in appendix D of SP 800-56B rev2 (draft) providing a formula for the number of security bits it terms of the length of the RSA key. This is an implementation of this formula using fixed point arithmetic. For integers 1 .. 100,000 it rounds down to the next smaller 8 bit strength 270 times. It never errs to the high side. None of the rounded values occur near any of the commonly selected lengths. Reviewed-by: Matt Caswell <matt@openssl.org> (Merged from https://github.com/openssl/openssl/pull/7352)

2017-08-18Remove tests dependence on e_os.hPauli
Apart from ssltest_old.c, the test suite relied on e_os.h for the OSSL_NELEM macro and nothing else. The ssltest_old.c also requires EXIT and some socket macros. Create a new header to define the OSSL_NELEM macro and use that instead. Reviewed-by: Rich Salz <rsalz@openssl.org> (Merged from https://github.com/openssl/openssl/pull/4186)
2017-08-15Use new setup_tests in code of rsa_testPaul Yang
Although this piece of code will not be compiled at current stage, but there seems a plan to re-open the 'no-rsa' option in the future so this should be fixed. 2017-07-27Update the test framework so that the need for test_main is removed. EverythingPauli
that needed test_main now works using the same infrastructure as tests that used register_tests. This meant: * renaming register_tests to setup_tests and giving it a success/failure return. * renaming the init_test function to setup_test_framework. * renaming the finish_test function to pulldown_test_framework. * adding a user provided global_init function that runs before the test frame work is initialised. It returns a failure indication that stops the stest. * adding helper functions that permit tests to access their command line args. * spliting the BIO initialisation and finalisation out from the test setup and teardown. * hiding some of the now test internal functions. * fix the comments in testutil.h Reviewed-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org> (Merged from https://github.com/openssl/openssl/pull/3953)

- FLAT_INC - PKCS1_CHECK (the SSL_OP_PKCS1_CHECK options have been no-oped) - PKCS_TESTVECT (debugging leftovers) - SSL_AD_MISSING_SRP_USERNAME (unfinished feature) - DTLS_AD_MISSING_HANDSHAKE_MESSAGE (unfinished feature) - USE_OBJ_MAC (note this removes a define from the public header but very unlikely someone would be depending on it) - SSL_FORBID_ENULL Reviewed-by: Rich Salz <rsalz@openssl.org> Reviewed-by: Stephen Henson <steve@openssl.org> Reviewed-by: Andy Polyakov <appro@openssl.org>

2016-01-07mem functions cleanupRich Salz
Only two macros CRYPTO_MDEBUG and CRYPTO_MDEBUG_ABORT to control this. If CRYPTO_MDEBUG is not set, #ifdef out the whole debug machinery. (Thanks to Jakob Bohm for the suggestion!) Make the "change wrapper functions" be the only paradigm. Wrote documentation! Format the 'set func' functions so their paramlists are legible. Format some multi-line comments. Remove ability to get/set the "memory debug" functions at runtme. Remove MemCheck_* and CRYPTO_malloc_debug_init macros. Add CRYPTO_mem_debug(int flag) function. Add test/memleaktest. Rename CRYPTO_malloc_init to OPENSSL_malloc_init; remove needless calls. Reviewed-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org>
2015-09-01RT 3493: fix RSA testEmilia Kasper
- Pass in the right ciphertext length to ensure we're indeed testing ciphertext corruption (and not truncation). - Only test one mutation per byte to not make the test too slow. - Add a separate test for truncated ciphertexts. Reviewed-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org>
2015-03-31Stop symlinking, move files to intended directoryRichard Levitte
Rather than making include/openssl/foo.h a symlink to crypto/foo/foo.h, this change moves the file to include/openssl/foo.h once and for all. Likewise, move crypto/foo/footest.c to test/footest.c, instead of symlinking it there. Originally-by: Geoff Thorpe <geoff@openssl.org> Reviewed-by: Rich Salz <rsalz@openssl.org>
