2016-06-21More doc cleanupRich Salz
Add missing entries to NAME section Add SYNOPSIS lines, remove old NAME entries Update find-doc-nits; better regexp's for parsing SYNOPSIS sections. Rename a couple of files to have an API name. Remove RSA_private_decrypt; it was duplicate content Update for recent doc additions Reviewed-by: Matt Caswell <matt@openssl.org>
2016-06-20Make DSA_SIG and ECDSA_SIG getters const.Emilia Kasper
Reorder arguments to follow convention. Also allow r/s to be NULL in DSA_SIG_get0, similarly to ECDSA_SIG_get0. This complements GH1193 which adds non-const setters. Reviewed-by: Rich Salz <rsalz@openssl.org>
2016-06-13Reorder the setter arguments to more consistently match that of other APIs,TJ Saunders
per review comments. Reviewed-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org> Reviewed-by: Emilia Käsper <emilia@openssl.org> Reviewed-by: Rich Salz <rsalz@openssl.org> (Merged from https://github.com/openssl/openssl/pull/1193)
2016-06-13Implement DSA_SIG_set0() and ECDSA_SIG_set0(), for setting signature values.TJ Saunders
SSH2 implementations which use DSA_do_verify() and ECDSA_do_verify() are given the R and S values, and the data to be signed, by the client. Thus in order to validate these signatures, SSH2 implementations will digest and sign the data -- and then pass in properly provisioned DSA_SIG and ECDSA_SIG objects. Unfortunately, the existing OpenSSL-1.1.0 APIs do not allow for directly setting those R and S values in these objects, which makes using OpenSSL for such SSH2 implementations much more difficult. 2016-03-08Make DSA_SIG opaque.Dr. Stephen Henson
This adds a new accessor function DSA_SIG_get0. The customisation of DSA_SIG structure initialisation has been removed this means that the 'r' and 's' components are automatically allocated when DSA_SIG_new() is called. Update documentation. Reviewed-by: Rich Salz <rsalz@openssl.org>
2015-10-28Remove SSLeay history, etc., from docsRich Salz
If something was "present in all versions" of SSLeay, or if it was added to a version of SSLeay (and therefore predates OpenSSL), remove mention of it. Documentation history now starts with OpenSSL. Remove mention of all history before OpenSSL 0.9.8, inclusive. Remove all AUTHOR sections. Reviewed-by: Tim Hudson <tjh@openssl.org>
2015-08-21Fix L<> content in manpagesRich Salz
L<foo|foo> is sub-optimal If the xref is the same as the title, which is what we do, then you only need L<foo>. This fixes all 1457 occurrences in 349 files. Approximately. (And pod used to need both.) Reviewed-by: Richard Levitte <levitte@openssl.org>
2002-09-25It makes more sense to refer to specific function manuals than the conceptRichard Levitte
manual when the specific function is refered to in the current manual text. This correction was originally introduced in OpenBSD's tracking of OpenSSL.

New function BN_pseudo_rand(). Use BN_prime_checks_size(BN_num_bits(w)) rounds of Miller-Rabin when generating DSA primes (why not use BN_is_prime()?)
