2021-05-19Make apps/progs.pl not look at apps/progs.cRichard Levitte
apps/progs.pl will have apps/progs.c as output, and on some systems, the output file of a program is locked against reading. Unfortunately, apps/progs.c is also part of the sources that make up apps/openssl, so it's necessary to mark that file in a way that makes progs.pl skip over it. Fortunately, this is easily done with a special attribute in apps/build.info and a simple adaptation of apps/progs.pl. 2019-04-23Add a way for the application to get OpenSSL configuration dataRichard Levitte
OpenSSL_version(OPENSSL_DIR) gives you a nicely formatted string for display, but if all you really want is the directory itself, you were forced to parsed the string. This introduces a new function to get diverse configuration data from the library, OPENSSL_info(). This works the same way as OpenSSL_version(), but has its own series of types, currently including: OPENSSL_INFO_CONFIG_DIR returns OPENSSLDIR OPENSSL_INFO_ENGINES_DIR returns ENGINESDIR OPENSSL_INFO_MODULES_DIR returns MODULESDIR OPENSSL_INFO_DSO_EXTENSION returns DSO_EXTENSION OPENSSL_INFO_DIR_FILENAME_SEPARATOR returns directory/filename separator OPENSSL_INFO_LIST_SEPARATOR returns list separator For scripting purposes, this also adds the command 'openssl info'. 2016-02-12Generate progs.h from a bunch of files instead of internal knowledgeRichard Levitte
apps/progs.pl counted on the caller to provide the exact command files. The unified build doesn't have that knowledge, and the easier and more flexible thing to do is to feed it all the apps/*.c files and let it figure out the command names by looking inside (looking for /int ([a-z0-9][a-z0-9_]*)_main\(int argc,/). Also, add it to the generate command, since it's a versioned file. Reviewed-by: Rich Salz <rsalz@openssl.org>
