2019-01-18staging: android: ion: Fixup some white-space issuesAndrew F. Davis
Add white-space for easier reading and remove some where it does not belong. No functional changes, they just bug me.. Signed-off-by: Andrew F. Davis <afd@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2019-01-18staging: android: ion: Remove struct ion_platform_heapAndrew F. Davis
Now that ION heap registration has been re-worked to not depend on board files or have a central heap register helper there is no need to have this data structure. Most of the fields are unused. Some heap creation helpers are still available that use this to define the a heap but only use 2 or 3 elements from this struct, just convert these to get supplied these values from the heap registrar directly. Signed-off-by: Andrew F. Davis <afd@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2019-01-18staging: android: ion: Add proper header informationAndrew F. Davis
The filenames in headers add nothing are often wrong after moves, lets drop them here and add a little description of the files contents. Signed-off-by: Andrew F. Davis <afd@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2017-11-28staging: android: Remove redundant license textGreg Kroah-Hartman
Now that the SPDX tag is in all android files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed. 2017-11-28staging: android: add SPDX identifiers to all android driver filesGreg Kroah-Hartman
It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to audit the kernel tree for correct licenses. Update the android driver files with the correct SPDX license identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This work is based on a script and data from Thomas Gleixner, Philippe Ombredanne, and Kate Stewart. 2017-04-18staging: android: ion: Rework heap registration/enumerationLaura Abbott
The current model of Ion heap registration is based on the outdated model of board files. The replacement for board files (devicetree) isn't a good replacement for what Ion wants to do. In actuality, Ion wants to show what memory is available in the system for something else to figure out what to use. Switch to a model where Ion creates its device unconditionally and heaps are registed as available regions. Currently, only system and CMA heaps are converted over to the new model. Carveout and chunk heaps can be converted over when someone wants to figure out how. Signed-off-by: Laura Abbott <labbott@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2017-04-18staging: android: ion: Collapse internal header filesLaura Abbott
Ion current has ion_priv.h and ion.h as header files. ion.h was intended to be used for public APIs but Ion never ended up really having anything public. Combine the two headers so there is only one internal header. Signed-off-by: Laura Abbott <labbott@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2017-04-18staging: android: ion: Get rid of ion_phys_addr_tLaura Abbott
Once upon a time, phys_addr_t was not everywhere in the kernel. These days it is used enough places that having a separate Ion type doesn't make sense. Remove the extra type and just use phys_addr_t directly. Signed-off-by: Laura Abbott <labbott@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2017-04-08staging: android: ion: Remove crufty cache supportLaura Abbott
Now that we call dma_map in the dma_buf API callbacks there is no need to use the existing cache APIs. Remove the sync ioctl and the existing bad dma_sync calls. Explicit caching can be handled with the dma_buf sync API. Signed-off-by: Laura Abbott <labbott@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2017-04-08staging: android: ion: Remove alignment from allocation fieldLaura Abbott
The align field was supposed to be used to specify the alignment of the allocation. Nobody actually does anything with it except to check if the alignment specified is out of bounds. Since this has no effect on the actual allocation, just remove it. Signed-off-by: Laura Abbott <labbott@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

2016-08-15staging: android: ion: Get rid of map_dma/unmap_dmaLaura Abbott
The map_dma API interface was designed to generate an sg_table. Currently, every client just creates the table at allocation time and then returns the one table. Nothing happens on unmap_dma either. Just get rid of the API and assign the sg_table directly. 2015-12-15Revert "scatterlist: use sg_phys()"Dan Williams
commit db0fa0cb0157 "scatterlist: use sg_phys()" did replacements of the form: phys_addr_t phys = page_to_phys(sg_page(s)); phys_addr_t phys = sg_phys(s) & PAGE_MASK; However, this breaks platforms where sizeof(phys_addr_t) > sizeof(unsigned long). Revert for 4.3 and 4.4 to make room for a combined helper in 4.5. 2013-12-14ion: don't use phys_to_page or __phys_to_pfnColin Cross
phys_to_page and __phys_to_pfn don't exist on all platforms. Use a combination of pfn_to_page, PFN_DOWN, page_to_pfn, and virt_to_page to get the same results. 2013-12-14ion: don't use __arm_ioremap to map pagesColin Cross
ion_heap_map_kernel already implements mapping a scatterlist of pages into the kernel, and all heaps are required to have struct pages associated with them, so delete the functions that use __arm_ioremap and use ion_heap_map_kernel instead. 2013-12-14ion: convert sg_dma_len(sg) to sg->lengthColin Cross
ion is always dealing with the allocation and not the mapping, so it should always be using sg->length and not sg->dma_length. Signed-off-by: Colin Cross <ccross@android.com> Signed-off-by: John Stultz <john.stultz@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2013-12-14ion: fix dma APIsColin Cross
__dma_page_cpu_to_dev is a private ARM api that is not available on 3.10 and was never available on other architectures. We can get the same behavior by calling dma_sync_sg_for_device with a scatterlist containing a single page. It's still not quite a kosher use of the dma apis, we still conflate physical addresses with bus addresses, but it should at least compile on all platforms, and work on any platform that doesn't have a physical to bus address translation. 2013-12-14gpu: ion: ion_chunk_heap: Zero chunk heap memory at creation timeRebecca Schultz Zavin
Allocations from the ion heap need to be zeroed to protect userspace from seeing memory belonging to other processes. First allocations from this heap were not zero'd allowing users to see memory from other processes on a warm reset. 2013-12-14gpu: ion: Make ion_free asynchronousRebecca Schultz Zavin
Add the ability for a heap to free buffers asynchrounously. Freed buffers are placed on a free list and freed from a low priority background thread. If allocations from a particular heap fail, the free list is drained. This patch also enable asynchronous frees from the chunk heap. 2013-12-14gpu: ion: Add chunk heapRebecca Schultz Zavin
This patch adds support for a chunk heap that allows for buffers that are made up of a list of fixed size chunks taken from a carveout. Chunk sizes are configured when the heaps are created by passing the chunk size in the priv field of the heap platform data.
