2016-04-25ixgbe: use msleep for long delaysArnd Bergmann
The newly added x550em_a support causes a link failure on ARM because of an overly long time passed into udelay(): ERROR: "__bad_udelay" [drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ixgbe/ixgbe.ko] undefined! There are multiple variants of the ixgbe_acquire_swfw_sync_*() function, and the other ones all use msleep(), so we can safely assume that all callers are allowed to sleep, which makes msleep() a better replacement than mdelay(). Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Fixes: 49425dfc7451 ("ixgbe: Add support for x550em_a 10G MAC type") Tested-by: Andrew Bowers <andrewx.bowers@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2016-04-25ixgbe: use BIT() macroJacob Keller
Several areas of ixgbe were written before widespread usage of the BIT(n) macro. With the impending release of GCC 6 and its associated new warnings, some usages such as (1 << 31) have been noted within the ixgbe driver source. Fix these wholesale and prevent future issues by simply using BIT macro instead of hand coded bit shifts. Also fix a few shifts that are shifting values into place by using the 'u' prefix to indicate unsigned. It doesn't strictly matter in these cases because we're not shifting by too large a value, but these are all unsigned values and should be indicated as such. 2016-04-25ixgbe: Use correct FC setup function for x550em_aMark Rustad
Somehow the wrong fc_setup function was used for x550em_a, so correct that. Also set setup_link to NULL as its value is determined later, just like it is with X550EM_x. 2016-04-24ixgbe: fix default mac->ops.setup_link for X550EMEmil Tantilov
X550EM_a/x did not have a default value for mac->ops.setup_link which was causing link issues for backplane devices. This patch sets mac->ops.setup_link to ixgbe_setup_mac_link_X540 for X550EM_a/x which is also default for X550. This will result in mac->ops.setup_link calling the link setup function for the respective PHY type in case we do not need a special function to deal with it. 2016-04-07ixgbe: Clean up interface for firmware commandsMark Rustad

2016-04-04ixgbe: Place SWFW semaphore in known valid state at probeDon Skidmore
It is possible on some HW that a system reset could occur when we are holding the SWFW semaphore lock. So next time the driver was loaded we would see it incorrectly as locked. This patch will recover from that state by: Attempting to acquire the semaphore and then regardless of whether or not it was acquire we immediately release it. 2015-12-29ixgbe: Correct X550EM_x revision checkMark Rustad
The X550EM_x revision check needs to check a value, not just a bit. Use a mask and check the value. 2015-12-03ixgbe: Correct spec violations by waiting after resetMark Rustad

2015-12-03ixgbe: Prevent KR PHY reset in ixgbe_init_phy_ops_x550emMark Rustad
This patch removes KR PHY reset from ixgbe_init_phy_ops_x550em, since this function is meant to initialize function pointers for the detected PHY type. Internal PHY reset was moved to ixgbe_setup_internal_phy_t_x550em which will now detect which mode the internal PHY operates in and set it up as required. 2015-09-23ixgbe: Add I2C bus mux supportMark Rustad
Take control of an I2C mux that selects which SFP is attached to the I2C bus. The control of the mux is captured in the taking and releasing of the related semaphore. 2015-09-23ixgbe: Fix 1G and 10G link stability for X550EM_x SFP+Mark Rustad
Configures the CS4227 correctly for both 1G and 10G operation, by moving the code to ixgbe_setup_mac_link_sfp_x550em(). It needs to be in this function because we need both the module type and the speed, and this is the only function in the init flow that knows the speed. In contrast, ixgbe_setup_sfp_modules_X550em() does not know the speed, so we can't do anything useful here. This is a fundamental difference from the previous flow, and is due to the way the CS4227 is implemented. This patch adds X550EM_x SFP+ dual-speed support. 82599 fiber link code was moved from ixgbe_82599.c to ixgbe_common.c for use by X550EM. SFP MAC link code is added to x550EM. 2015-09-22ixgbe: Provide unlocked I2C methodsMark Rustad

2015-09-01ixgbe: add new bus type for intergrated I/O interface (IOSF)Don Skidmore

2015-06-09ixgbe: fix X550 devices init flowDon Skidmore
Reviewing the X550 copper init flow with the Si team resulted in a new simplified flow. We no longer wait for the PHY FW initialization complete bit to be set as this bit is only set once by the PHY at power on and then cleared on the first read. So only the first instance of running SW (or possibly MAC FW) needs to initialize the PHY. 2015-06-09ixgbe: add X550 support for external PHY and forced 1G/10G supportDon Skidmore
This patch adds x550 external PHY interrupt and forced 1G/10G support. This included enabling and handling LSC and thermal sensor interrupt. ixgbe_handle_lasi() has been added for handling the interrupts received over SDP0 from the external 10baseT PHY. ixgbe_enable_lasi_ext_t_x550em and ixgbe_get_lasi_ext_t_x550em have been added to X550em to enable mask and check interrupt flags for the external PHY. Forced 1G/10G link speed is handled via ixgbe_mac_link_t_X550em. ixgbe_seupt_mac_link_t_X550em sets up the internal PHY and external PHY to either iXFI (10G) or KX (1G) based on the user selected auto advertised link speed setting.
