2019-03-01media: Revert "media: rc: some events are dropped by userspace"Sean Young
When an rc device is created, we do not know what key codes it will support, since a new keymap might be loaded at some later point. So, we set all keybit in the input device. The uevent for the input device includes all the key codes, of which there are now 768. This overflows the size of the uevent (UEVENT_BUFFER_SIZE) and no event is generated. Revert for now until we figure out a different solution. This reverts commit fec225a04330d0f222d24feb5bea045526031675. The Zotac RC2604323/01G and RC2604329/02BG remotes use the 32-bit rc6 protocol and toggle bit 15 (0x8000) on repeated button presses, like MCE remotes. Add the customer code 0x80340000 to the 32-bit rc6 toggle handling code to get proper scancodes and toggle reports. 2018-11-22media: rc: XBox DVD Remote uses 12 bits scancodesSean Young
The xbox dvd remote sends 24 bits, the first 12 bits are repeated and inverted so only 12 bits are used. The upper 4 bits can be read at offset 3. Ensure we pass this to rc-core and update the keymap accordingly. 2018-11-22media: rc: add driver for Xbox DVD Movie Playback KitBenjamin Valentin
The Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit is a USB dongle with an IR remote for the Original Xbox. Historically it has been supported by the out-of-tree lirc_xbox driver, but this one has fallen out of favour and was just dropped from popular Kodi (formerly XBMC) distributions. This driver is heavily based on the ati_remote driver where all the boilerplate was taken from - I was mostly just removing code. libevdev (which is used by libinput) gets a list of keycodes from the input device on creation. Any events with keycodes which are not in this list are silently dropped. So, set all keycodes on device creation since we do not know which will be used if the keymap changes. This can be done with c99 initializers, which makes the code cleaner and more transparent. It does require gcc 4.6, because of this bug in earlier versions: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10676 Since commit cafa0010cd51 ("Raise the minimum required gcc version to 4.6"), this is the case. 2018-06-26bpf: fix attach type BPF_LIRC_MODE2 dependency wrt CONFIG_CGROUP_BPFSean Young
If the kernel is compiled with CONFIG_CGROUP_BPF not enabled, it is not possible to attach, detach or query IR BPF programs to /dev/lircN devices, making them impossible to use. For embedded devices, it should be possible to use IR decoding without cgroups or CONFIG_CGROUP_BPF enabled. This change requires some refactoring, since bpf_prog_{attach,detach,query} functions are now always compiled, but their code paths for cgroups need moving out. Rather than a #ifdef CONFIG_CGROUP_BPF in kernel/bpf/syscall.c, moving them to kernel/bpf/cgroup.c and kernel/bpf/sockmap.c does not require #ifdefs since that is already conditionally compiled. Add support for BPF_PROG_LIRC_MODE2. This type of BPF program can call rc_keydown() to reported decoded IR scancodes, or rc_repeat() to report that the last key should be repeated. It appears that we need to enable CIR device before attempting to touch some of the registers. Previously, this was not a big issue, since we were rarely seeing nvt_close() getting called. Unfortunately, since commit cb84343fced1 ("media: lirc: do not call close() or open() on unregistered devices") the initial open() during probe from rc_setup_rx_device() is no longer successful, which means that userspace clients will actually end up calling nvt_open()/nvt_close(). Since nvt_open() is broken, the device doesn't seem to work as expected. 2018-05-14media: rc: ite-cir: lower timeout and extend allowed timeout rangeMatthias Reichl
The minimum possible timeout of ite-cir is 8 samples, which is typically about 70us. The driver however changes the FIFO trigger level from the hardware's default of 1 byte to 17 bytes, so the minimum usable timeout value is 17 * 8 samples, which is typically about 1.2ms. Tests showed that using timeouts down to 1.2ms actually work fine. The current default timeout of 200ms is much longer than necessary and the maximum timeout of 1s seems to have been chosen a bit arbitrarily. So change the minimum timeout to the driver's limit of 17 * 8 samples and bring timeout and maximum timeout in line with the settings of many other receivers.
