This patch fixes the scales for the gyroscope, accelerometer and barometer. The pressure scale was just wrong. For the others, the scale factors were not taking into account that a 32bit word is being read from the device. 2019-11-03iio: imu: adis16480: assign bias value only if operation succeededAlexandru Ardelean
This was found only after the whole thing with the inline functions, but the compiler actually found something. The value of the `bias` (in adis16480_get_calibbias()) should only be set if the read operation was successful. No actual known problem occurs as users of this function all ultimately check the return value. Hence probably not stable material. 2019-11-03iio: imu: adis16480: check ret val for non-zero vs less-than-zeroAlexandru Ardelean
The ADIS library functions return zero on success, and negative values for error. Positive values aren't returned, but we only care about the success value (which is zero). This change is mostly needed so that the compiler won't make any inferences about some about values being potentially un-initialized. This only triggers after making some functions inline, because the compiler can better follow return paths. 2019-04-04iio: imu: adis16480: Add support for external clockStefan Popa
Inertial sensor data collection and processing can be controlled by configuring one of the DIOx lines as an external clock input. This option is available for all devices supported by this driver. However, only adis1649x devices support different modes for the external clock. Sync mode is supported by all devices. In this mode, the output data rate is equal with the clock frequency divided by DEC_RATE + 1. This mode of calculation is similar with the case when the internal clock is used. Pulse Per Second (PPS) Mode, is only supported by adis1649x devices. In this mode, the output data rate is equal to the product of the external clock frequency and the scale factor in the SYNC_SCALE register. This patch uses the "clock-names" property to enable the external clock in one of the two supported modes: "sync" or "pps". This property is optional. If it is not specified, the internal clock is used. This patch also offers the option to select the DIOx line to be used as an external clock input via the custom "adi,ext-clk-pin" property. If this field is left empty, DIO2 is assigned as default external clock input pin. Each DIOx pin supports only one function at a time (data ready line selection or external clock input). 2019-04-04iio: imu: adis16480: Add support for ADIS1649x family of devicesStefan Popa
The ADIS16495 and ADIS16497 are inertial systems that include a triaxis gyroscope and a triaxis accelerometer. The serial peripheral interface (SPI) provide a simple interface for data collection and configuration control. The devices are similar to ADIS16475, ADIS16480, ADIS16485 and ADIS16488, the main differences are highlighted below: * The temperature data scale is 0.00565 C/LSB for ADIS16475 and ADIS1648x devices, while for ADIS1649x 0.0125 C/LSB. * ADIS1649x devices support different gyroscope measurement ranges which are dependent on the dash number (-1, -2, -3), see Table 24 in the ADIS16495 datasheet. However, the ADIS16497 gyroscopes have the same scale as ADIS16495. * ADIS16495 devices support the acceleration maximum range of 8g, while ADIS16497 devices go up to 40g. * The internal clock for ADIS1649x devices is 4.25 kSPS. The sampling frequency is calculated by applying a decimation rate which can take a maximum value of 4250. * ADIS1649x devices support different default filter frequencies. The adis1648x devices have an internal clock of 2.46 kSPS. The sampling frequency is calculated by applying a decimation rate which can take the maximum value of 2047. Although all adis1648x devices are similar in this regard, devices that will use this feature will be added in the future. All supported devices provide internal temperature measurement from -40 C to +85 C, with +25 C representing value 0x00. This patch treats the temperature scale in a generic way, similar to the accelerometer and gyroscope scales. So far, there are no temperature max scale differences between the supported devices. 2019-04-04iio: imu: adis16480: Add support for configurable drdy indicatorStefan Popa
The FNCTIO_CTRL register provides configuration control for each I/O pin (DIO1, DIO2, DIO3 and DIO4). This patch adds the option to configure each DIOx pin as data ready indicator with positive or negative polarity by reading the 'interrupts' and 'interrupt-names' properties from the devicetree. The 'interrupt-names' property is optional, if it is not specified, then the DIO1 pin is used as default data ready signal. Although the factory default assigns DIO2 as data ready signal, in the versions previous this patch, DIO1 pin was used. We should leave this configuration as is, since some devices might be expecting the interrupt on the wrong physical pin. New features * ccs811 - Add support for the data ready trigger. * mma8452 - remove artifical restriction on supporting multiple event types at the same time. * tcs3472 - support out of threshold events Core and tree wide cleanup * Use macro magic to remove the need to provide THIS_MODULE as part of struct iio_info or struct iio_trigger_ops. This is similar to work done in a number of other subsystems (e.g. i2c, spi). All drivers are fixed and then the fields in these structures are removed. This will cause build failures for out of tree drivers and any new drivers that cross with this work going into the kernel. Note mostly done with a coccinelle patch, included in the series on the mailing list but not merged as the fields no longer exist in the structures so the any hold outs will cause a build failure. Cleanups * ads1015 - avoid writing config register when it doesn't change. - add 10% to conversion wait time as it seems it is sometimes a little small. * ade7753 - replace use of core mlock with a local lock. This is part of a long term effort to make the use of mlock opaque and single purpose. * ade7759 - expand the use of buf_lock to cover previous mlock cases. This is a slightly nicer solution to the same issue as in ade7753. * cros_ec - drop an unused variable * inv_mpu6050 - add a missing break in a switch for consistency - not actual bug, - make some local arrays static to save on object code size. * max5481 - drop manual setting of the spi module owner as handled by the spi core. * max5487 - drop manual setting of the spi module owner as handled by the spi core. * max9611 - drop explicit setting of the i2c module owner as handled by the i2c core. * mcp320x - speed up reads on single channel devices, - drop unused of_device_id data elements, - document the struct mcp320x, - improve binding docs to reflect restrictions on spi setup and to make it explicit that the reference regulator is needed. * mma8452 - symbolic to octal permissions, - unsigned to unsigned int. * st_lsm6dsx - avoid setting odr values multiple times, - drop config of LIR as it is only ever set to the existing defaults, - drop rounding configuration as it only ever matches the defaults. * ti-ads8688 - drop manual setting of the spi module owner as handled by the spi core. * tsl2x7x - constify the i2c_device_id, - cleanup limit checks to avoid static checker warnings (and generally have nicer code).

2012-11-30iio:imu: adis16480: show_firmware() buffer too smallDan Carpenter
Smatch complains that snprintf() returns the number of characters, not counting the NUL terminator, which *would* have been printed if there were enough space. In other words the return value could be more than sizeof(buf). In this case, we are printing something like "ff.ff\n" which is at most 6 characters and a NUL so that's not an issue. I changed snprintf() to scnprintf() to silence the warning. But since the buffer doesn't include space for the NUL terminator, we need to make it bigger or the "\n" will be truncated off.
