2019-02-24ACPICA: ACPI 6.3: add PCC operation region support for AML interpreterErik Schmauss
ACPICA commit a4849944e80f97970e99843f4975850753584a4e This change adds PCC operation region support in the AML interpreter and a default handler for acpiexec. According to the specification, the PCC operation region performs a transaction when the COMD field is written. This allows ASL to write data to other fields before sending the data. In order to accommodate this protocol, a temorary buffer is added to the regionfield object to accumulate writes. If any offset that spans COMD is written, the temporary buffer is sent to the PCC operation region handler to be processed. This change also renames the PCC keyword to platform_comm_channel. evaluations can happen during OS early boot stages ACPICA commit 31178590dde82368fdb0f6b0e466b6c0add96c57 We can ensure no early _REG evaluations by ensuring the following rules in acpi_ev_execute_reg_method(): 1. If an address space handler is installed during early stage, _REG(CONNECT) evaluations are blocked. This is achieved using acpi_gbl_reg_methods_enabled which is renamed from acpi_gbl_reg_methods_executed. 2. If _REG(CONNECT) has never been evalauted for the region object, _REG(DISCONNECT) evaluations are blocked. This is achieved by a new region object flag: AOPOBJ_REG_CONNECTED. Note that, after applying this patch, we can ensure _REG(DISCONNECT) is always paired to _REG(CONNECT). 2014-09-24ACPICA: Update to GPIO region handler interface.Bob Moore
Changes to correct several GPIO issues: 1) The update_rule in a GPIO field definition is now ignored; a read-modify-write operation is never performed for GPIO fields. (Internally, this means that the field assembly/disassembly code is completely bypassed for GPIO.) 2) The Address parameter passed to a GPIO region handler is now the bit offset of the field from a previous Connection() operator. Thus, it becomes a "Pin Number Index" into the Connection() resource descriptor. 3) The bit_width parameter passed to a GPIO region handler is now the exact bit width of the GPIO field. Thus, it can be interpreted as "number of pins". Overall, we can now say that the region handler interface to GPIO handlers is a raw "bit/pin" addressed interface, not a byte-addressed interface like the system_memory handler interface. 2014-03-26ACPICA: Ignore sync_level for methods that have been auto-serialized.Bob Moore
Cannot use a sync_level for methods that have been serialized at load-time or runtime because this may interfere with any existing use of sync_levels within the ASL code. So, we simply ignore the sync_level for these methods, thus preserving any existing sync_level priorities. Note, the use of sync_levels is actually rather rare within BIOS ASL code. 2014-02-27ACPICA: Headers: Deploy #pragma pack (push) and (pop).Bob Moore
Use push and pop to both guarantee that the correct alignment is used, and to restore the alignment to whatever it was before the header was included. It is reported that the #pragma pack(push/pop) directives are not supported by the specific GCCs, but this patch still doesn't affect kernel build as there are already #pragma pack([1]) directives used in the old ACPICA headers, which means there shouldn't be GCCs that are currently used to compile the ACPI kernels do not support #pragma pack() directives. 2013-01-10ACPICA: Cleanup updated comments.Lv Zheng
This is a cosmetic patch only. Comparison of the resulting binary showed only line number differences. This patch does not affect the generation of the Linux binary. This patch decreases 558 lines of 20121018 divergence.diff. This patch reduces the source code diff between Linux and ACPICA by cleaning the comments that already have been updated in ACPICA. There is no extra indentation done in this patch. Even the empty line deletions and insertions are also splitted into another cleanup patch so that this patch can be easily reviewed, and the binary differences can be held to a lowest level. 2011-01-18ACPICA: Fix issues/fault with automatic "serialized" method supportLin Ming
History: This support changes a method to "serialized" on the fly if the method generates an AE_ALREADY_EXISTS error, indicating the possibility that it cannot handle reentrancy. This fix repairs a couple of issues seen in the field, especially on machines with many cores. 1) Delete method children only upon the exit of the last thread, so as to not delete objects out from under running threads. 2) Set the "serialized" bit for the method only upon the exit of the last thread, so as to not cause deadlock when running threads attempt to exit. 3) Cleanup the use of the AML "MethodFlags" and internal method flags so that there is no longer any confustion between the two. 2010-02-22ACPI / ACPICA: Multiple system notify handlers per deviceRafael J. Wysocki
Currently it only is possible to install one system notify handler per namespace node, but this is not enough for PCI run-time power management, because we need to install power management notifiers for devices that already have hotplug notifiers installed. While in principle this could be handled at the PCI level, that would be suboptimal due to the way in which the ACPI-based PCI hotplug code is designed. For this reason, modify ACPICA so that it is possible to install more than one system notify handler per namespace node. Namely, make acpi_install_notify_handler(), acpi_remove_notify_handler() and acpi_ev_notify_dispatch() use a list of system notify handler objects associated with a namespace node. Make acpi_remove_notify_handler() call acpi_os_wait_events_complete() upfront to avoid a situation in which concurrent instance of acpi_remove_notify_handler() removes the handler from under us while we're waiting for the event queues to flush. 2010-01-22ACPICA: Remove obsolete ACPI_INTEGER (acpi_integer) typeBob Moore
This type was introduced as the code was migrated from ACPI 1.0 (with 32-bit AML integers) to ACPI 2.0 (with 64-bit integers). It is now obsolete and this change removes it from the ACPICA code base, replaced by u64. The original typedef has been retained for now for compatibility with existing device driver code.
